Computer Vision II: Multiple View Geometry (IN2228)
Overview
The lecture introduces the basic concepts of image formation - perspective projection and camera motion. The goal is to reconstruct the three-dimensional world and the camera motion from multiple images. To this end, one determines correspondences between points in various images and respective constraints that allow to compute motion and 3D structure. A particular emphasis of the lecture is on mathematical descriptions of rigid body motion and of perspective projection. For estimating camera motion and 3D geometry we will make use of both spectral methods and methods of nonlinear optimization.
Registration
If you plan to attend, please register for the course on TUMonline. Later during the semester, you will have to register for the exam.
You can ask questions or provide suggestions via Moodle https://www.moodle.tum.de/mod/forum/
We have 814 enrolled students this year. The registration has been closed. If you missed the deadline, please register for the course next year.

Exam
We will hold a lecture for knowledge review in July (highlighting knowledge important for our exam). The review scope will be narrowed down. Accordingly, we tentatively do not allow the cheat sheet in our exam.
Summer Semester Exam
The exam will tentatively take place on 04 August from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
Registration for the exam is possible between 22 May and 30 June.
Deadline for grading of exams: 06 September 2023.
Winter Semester Exam (Repeat Exam)
Students can only register for repeat exams if the grades of the first exams have been entered in TUMonline.
The exam will tentatively take place on 13 October from 17:00 to 19:00.
Registration for these exams is possible between 11 September and 25 September.
Deadline for grading of exams: 03 November 2023.
